The media has not been very positive lately. Everything is COVID-related and sad. There is no good news from the media anymore and it leaves society stressed, anxious, and sad.
This is not OK.
I understand reporters are only reporting and they have to get the news out, but I would like some happy news every once and a while.
I mean, come on. I think we all need it.
So here are a few things that I hope will make your day, or at least make you smile. Enjoy!
For starters, the holidays are coming up!
I, for one, am very excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yes, I know they won't be the same as in the past but there are still other things we can do to celebrate.
Hallmark channel aside, there are so many Christmas movies to watch. Oldies such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, A Year Without a Santa Claus, and of course the newer movies such as The Santa Claus cheap dissertation writing 1, 2, and 3.
It's also time to break out those onesies and blast Christmas music while decorating the house. And who's stopping you from baking cookies? Christmas is my favorite time of year to bake sugar, chocolate chip, oatmeal cookies, and pizzelles.
So there are many things that we can still do for the holiday season to get us excited!

In other news, my karate school is hosting a tournament next month for our students to continue competing and they are continuing with blackbelt tests.
The Grandmaster of my karate school contacted me last week saying they are starting to put together blackbelt tests and I am on the list to test for third-degree and my boyfriend is on the list to test for second-degree.
I was supposed to test in March but it was postponed, and I am very eager and anxious to test. After hearing this news, I was very excited.
And, I am excited for the kids because they also get to compete in a small tournament at the school. When I made the announcement during classes, I could see all their faces light up with joy. They were so excited and that made me so happy.

The weather has been so nice lately.
I was able to attend virtual classes from outside on my porch for the past few days and I'm not complaining.
Although I complained when my dogs would bark at a leave blowing in the wind, other than that, it was nice to sit out on my porch in the nice weather while participating in class.
And this was the perfect weather to put up outdoor Christmas decorations! My community hung up snowflakes on every lamp post in town and they are already lit at night.
On top of that, it's Pumpkin Spice Season! Even if you don't like coffee, there are pumpkin spice pastries to enjoy. Either way, each option is delicious!

In sports, the Philadelphia Union are doing amazing!
They are first in their division and they won the Supporters Shield this past week and are headed to playoffs!
Also, the Philadelphia Eagles are first in their division! And before you say anything, try not to think about how they are doing overall. Try to focus on their division standing.
At least we are able to watch sports again and cheer for our home team!

Yes, these may sound like a cliche, happy moment, but during this traumatic time, I hold on to the little things that make me happy because they help me get through the day.
Listening to Christmas music.
Practicing karate for my test.
Sitting outside before it gets too cold.
And seeing my students smile after hearing good news.
These are the things that get me through these tough days and I place these over any negative news in the world.
Think about what makes you happy, and focus on those more than what is being negatively reported in the world.
